Health centre receives equipment donation
LAPTA Health Centre has received vital new medical equipment for its ambulance, thanks to a donation by The Foreign Residents in the TRNC (TFR) backed by suppliers Deniz Medical.
The donation of a nebuliser, stethoscope, digital thermometer, two pulse monitors and a blood pressure monitor was made after TFR officials met the centre’s staff, including cardiologist Dr Levent Soyer, to discuss how they could help by using a 1,000TL TFR fund.
Events manager Pam Tschersich said: “We wanted to buy something instead of donating cash so it could be put to good use. After having experience with the Lapta 112 [ambulance] and health centre, which amazed me with their great service, I decided we should contribute . . . with what they needed.
“It was really lovely to see how grateful they were for the donations and I hope this will not be the last help we provide for them.”
Dilek Büyük, a dentist at the centre, said: “These people wanted to provide us with something in return for the service we provided for Pam and thanks to them, these items will be a back-up in the ambulance for use in emergency cases.”
The TFR continues its fundraising towards good causes with a tombola at Lapta’s Blue Song venue on Easter Monday, April 2.
