NEU sweeps the board

NEAR East College swept the board at National Education and Culture Ministry high schools athletics and badminton championships. Its pupils won both the boys’ and girls’ events after two days of athletics competition at Lefkoşa’s Atatürk Stadium on Monday and Tuesday.

Lapta Yavuzlar High School took second place in the boys’ category, followed by Kurtuluş High School. In the girls’ event, Kurtuluş were runners-up and The American College third.

In the badminton championships on Monday, Near East took both boys’ and girls’ titles. The English School of Kyrenia were runners-up in the boys’ event and Bayraktar Türk Maarif College third, while Bayraktar Türk Maarif College were second for the girls and Eastern Mediteranean Doğa College third.
