NEU suffer home defeat against LAU

NEAR East University’s men’s basketball team suffered a home defeat to European University of Lefke (LAU) in a critical Kıbrıs Vakıflar Bank Basketball League tie.

The 76-67 scoreline at Lefkoşa’s RA-25 Sport Stadium leaves NEU in second place in the league, level on 22 points with leaders Koopspor and just one point ahead of LAU.

A star turn by NEU captain Halil, who scored 22 points, failed to secure victory for the home side in the face of an LAU onslaught in which Doğukan scored 21 points and Berk 19.
