Music, song and dance at children’s festival
MUSIC, song and dance are promised as part of fun for all the family at a charity Children’s Festival in Girne next Saturday, April 21.
The Cyprus Paediatric Research, Prevention and Treatment Foundation (Çohav) is lining up the entertainment for the event being staged at Girne’s The Colony Garden to mark April 23’s National Sovereignty and Children’s Day — and raise funds to help build a paediatric intensive care unit at Lefkoşa State Hospital.
Doors open at noon and the line-up designed to appeal to young and old alike until 7pm includes local band Öldüren Şampanya, singers Dervişe Çerkez Güryel and her daughter Kayra Hacer Çerkez, and DJ Cenk.
The Cranberries dance school will also put on a show, while the MasterKids education centre and Camp Cyprus will lay on scientific and technological games, and a range of stalls will offer food and drinks.
Almost 4,000 tickets, at 25TL a head, have already been sold, and more will be available on the door.
Organisers thanked backers Girne Municipality, the Arkın Group, Ramadan Cemil Holding, the Başman Group and other businesses for their support.
