Fun quiz raises funds
EIGHT teams pitted their wits against each other at this month’s fun quiz in The Olive Press Bowling Club which raised 225TL for the Karşıyaka Turtle Watch (KTW).
Four rounds of 10 questions each were based on games, general knowledge and people at the quiz on Friday last week, with the three-member Misfits team emerging as winners and being presented with a bottle of wine and box of chocolates.
The quiz was followed by a novelty game, Card Bingo, which was won by Bill Hunt who took away 75TL. A “brainbuster” question, however, remained unanswered for the third time, so leaving the 190TL jackpot up for grabs at next month’s quiz.
Organiser Carolyn Hayes said: “Some of us are volunteers for the KTW and we launched the monthly quiz to raise funds for it three months ago, since when we have collected around 700TL for the charity.”
