Fake US dollars

A 21-YEAR-old passenger was arrested at Ercan airport after using fake US dollars to purchase items at the duty-free shop, Lefkoşa District Court heard on Thursday. Osman Küçüker was arrested at 2.30pm after three bogus $50 bills were allegedly found on him, in addition to two counterfeit notes already used for the purchase. He claimed the counterfeits had been given to him by a customer at a nightclub where he worked, and was remanded in custody pending investigations.

Police warned people to look out for fake dollars with the serial numbers: ML 35643293A, MG 62111389A, ML 35643843A, ML 78655690A and MG 65155222A.
