Motorsport lovers to enjoy more fast and furious action

-

MOTORSPORT enthusiasts are gearing up for a feast of fast and furious action after registrations for the annual, threeday North Cyprus Rally closed on Monday. Scheduled to take place between next Friday and Sunday, the Gülgün Milk-sponsored event is being organised by the North Cyprus Touring and Automobile Association (KKTOK) and will see teams — including an expected 20 from Turkey — taking part in events on designated routes. A ceremonial start is to be flagged away from the Rocks Hotel in Girne at 8.30pm on Friday and will be followed by events between Tirmen and Esentepe on Saturday and through Balıkesir, Serdarlı and Görneç on Sunday. A number of health and safety workshops have been held for stewards who will be on duty during the rally, including those led by Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile-certified Turkish trainers Mahmut Ayverdi and Harun Öcal Zilanlı, who shared their experience and knowledge. Meanwhile, KKTOK sports director Canben Özpaşa said: “The North Cyprus Rally this year coincides with, and is a stage of, the Turkey Rally Championship, which is a first for the TRNC and therefore very important for us.” Those who wish to watch the rally can find locations for spectators at https://kuzeykibrisrallisi.com/seyirci-noktalari-aciklandi/.
