Dominic’s big Blue Door debut

SOME 100 people packed Alsancak’s Blue Door restaurant when Dominic Holmes performed there for the first time on Friday last week.

As 80 diners tucked into a three-course meal, other customers had drinks while seated in the outdoor section of the restaurant as Mr Holmes staged a threehour, live performance of numbers ranging from those of Frank Sinatra to latest hits. A 1,000TL donation to the Help Those With Cancer Association (Tulips) included 760TL from ticket sales which was topped up to the total by a mystery donor. Blue Door co-owner Lydia Wise said: “Dominic was so good that we will be having him perform here again next month. “He provided a fantastic night for everyone who ate, drank and danced under the umbrellas we put up.’’
