Best Male Model holidays in the TRNC

-

“CYPRUS is perfect,” said Sri Lankan winner of Best Male Model of the World 2017, Januka Rajapaksha, during a recent, week-long holiday at Esentepe’s five-star Elexus Hotel.

The 25-year-old took part in the contest when it was held in Paris with sponsorship from the Elexus to mark its 30th anniversary.

Mr Rajapaksha, who owns a business in Galewela, Sri Lanka, became the first model from his country to win the title — and the holiday — a feat which he described as being an honour that also made his family proud.

“When I entered the competition, I never thought of winning and I was shocked as this is a great achievement for me and has made history in my country,” said Mr Rajapaksha, who has now launched an acting career in his home country.

“This is the first time I have ever been to Cyprus and I haven’t been anywhere as the hotel is enough and has everything from its beautiful beach to a water park,” he said. “Most importantly, however, is the amazing service of the staff.

“I am grateful to them and will come back one day with friends.’’ RENOWNED Russian singer Dima Bilan recently entertained TRNC fans when he performed live at the Merit Royal hotel in Alsancak.

A large crowd, including many Russian expats and visitors, tucked into food and drink, danced and sang along while being entertained, said organisers.

Mr Bilan, who came second in the 2006 Eurovision song contest with his rendition of Never Let You Go went on to win the contest in 2008 with his Believe song which also served as a launch pad for his international career.

During his Merit Royal concert, Mr Bilan sang numbers including his latest hit Derzhi and said how happy he was to be performing before “such a lively crowd”.
