Poised for laughter
TOP UK tribute acts head to Girne for retro summer charity concerts at the Savoy Ottoman Palace Hotel on Friday, June 1 and at Girne’s The House and Garden on Wednesday, June 20.
The Royal British Legion Kyrenia Branch Annual Gala features the return of the charismatic Sarah Jayne and Andy Crust husband-and-wife team with a new Night with the Stars of ’70s, ’80s and ’90s tributes and some special guests before a special Champagne and Supper prize draw.
The Poppy Gala Night fundraiser also promises a four-course menu with unlimited drinks.
Invitations are priced at £45 and available from Best Seller bookshops in Karakum and Alsancak, and Olive Press Bowling Club in Lapta. Supper Club fans will be “Stayin’ Alive” to the Bee Gees beat of a popular UK trio of 20 years who won UK Best Tribute Act in 2013, 2016 and 2017.
The Civil Emergency Services Volunteers fundraiser is organised by Laurence Floyd, who promised “a big night of fun and dancing as reservations are coming in fast with 380 people already booked”.
The evening starts at 7pm with a “welcome” cocktail, three-course meal and tea, coffee and local/selected imported drinks until midnight.
Tickets cost £55 per person and are now available from Karakum or Alsancak Best Seller stores or The Colony hotel reception. Tables seat 10 or 12 and reservations may be made by phoning 0533 839 6892 or emailing floydlaurence@googlemail.com.
