Price of fuel and paraffin goes up
THE price of fuel and paraffin increased by 10 kuruş this week, and the price of Eurodiesel has gone up by five.
A litre of unleaded 98-octane petrol is now 4.60TL, up from 4.50TL, while the cost of 95octane has increased to 4.42TL, from 4.32TL.
Paraffin is 4.11TL, compared to its old price of 4.01TL, and Eurodiesel costs 4.18TL per litre, up from 4.13TL.
Announcing the increases on Monday, Finance Minister Serdar Denktaş said there was no possibility of fuel prices falling in the near future, in light of rising exchange rates, but had the government not already intervened, prices at the pumps would have been 80 kuruş higher.
Of 42 countries in the reegion, he added, the TRNC is 17th in terms of national minimum wage, and third in terms of fuel price.
