Volunteers who helped raise 50,000TL at market stall this year honoured by Tulips
VOLUNTEERS responsible for running a weekly Lambousa market stall which has raised nearly 50,000TL for the Help Those With Cancer Association (Tulips) so far this year have been honoured for their work.
The charity’s founder and head, Raziye Kocaismail, went along to the Saturday market to present certificates to Lynda Hillard and her team “in appreciation of all their hard work in raising amazing money for the association on the stall”.
A Tulips statement expressed “grateful thanks to all those involved, who help not only on the stall but in the sorting of all the goods received from generous donations”.
It added: “Please keep your donations coming in, as Tulips’ cancer patients need your support.”
Mrs Hillard, who took over the running of the stall about two years ago, said it had brought in 48,545TL by the end of July.
She said the “surprise” presentation had been “lovely”, particularly as it showed appreciation for those who “work in the background”, and “the input of all is very important”.
