Lefkoşa guitarist’s jazz fusion album hits No 6 in the US
A JAZZ fusion album by Lefkoşa-born bass guitarist Oytun Ersan and an army of respected jazz musicians has reached sixth place in the Top 10 most requested albums on the US Public Radio International WERU Community Radio Station.
His second album to date, Fusilicious was self-released in 2016 and also features the Turkish Cypriot talents of elder brother and lead guitarist Okan Ersan and vocalists Simge and Aytunç Akdoğdu.
International musical contributors include Dave Weckl, Eric Marienthal, Dean Brown and Karen Briggs.
Mr Ersan studied at Eastern Mediterranean University and the Royal College of Music and is an official artist of the US Fodera electric bass guitar maker, but still plays with the Lefkoşa Municipality Orchestra which he joined aged 15.
