Three new volunteers at BRS’s last blood donor day of the year

THREE new donors were among 17 who gave blood at the fourth and last blood donor day of 2018 to be organised by the British Residents Society (BRS).

The donors went to Girne State Hospital on Saturday in what the BRS and Lefkoşa Blood Bank said was a successful event despite the bad weather.

Julian Mawdesley of the BRS Blood Donor Team said they were “very grateful” for support from donors and thanked other team members Elaine Dugan, Jane Griffiths and Pat Holmes for their help.

Members of the BRS team will meet blood bank officials in January to arrange next year’s donor dates. Meanwhile, those who can do so are also urged to donate blood directly at the blood bank which requires daily supplies.
