Garabli triumphs at CMC
GÜLAY Garablı scored 35 points to win a Creditwestsponsored full-handicap stableford tournament at the CMC golf course in Yeşilyurt on Sunday. Second in the tournament was Keith Goddard, with Bob Awbery coming third.
“Many thanks to Creditwest for not only providing the prizes but for also laying on a barbecue for the golfers and guests,” the CMC’s Brian Flanigan told Cyprus Today.
“The competition was played in pleasant weather and we even managed to avoid the rain.”
CMC president Steve Brady was on hand to help present the prizes along with Creditwest representatives Figen Kaymak, Maheer Zaheer and Ayşen Türker. Sam Bray had the lowest gross score and there were two twos recorded — those of Mr Bray and Stanley Penn. Ms Kaymak thanked the organisers and golfers for their support and promised further sponsorship for next year’s competition. Yeşilova’s first goal in Sunday’s match in the Şehit Hüseyin Ruso Stadium came from Vakkas Kaynarca in the 10th minute, with the second, a 25-metre shot from Yasın Doğan, sealing the win in the 22nd.
