- By ANNE CANALP

A 2017 STELIOS award-winning children’s book, Jack-the-Cat’s Dream, by Turkish Cypriot Sezgi Yalın is now on sale in three separate editions — in Turkish, English and Greek — at the capital’s Rüstem Bookshop.

A story of the real-life adventures of an American cat who moved to the village of Bellapais from the big city of Chicago with his owner, Lefkoşaborn author and English teacher trainer Ms Yalın, the book is illustrated by Louiza Kaimaki and aims to inspire local children and encourage them to realise their dreams.

The shop’s Ali Rüstem said: “It’s a children’s book with a positive message that adults love as well, so we are happily promoting it.

“Sezgi Yalın spent over six years in America so, when she came home, she brought Jack with her and this is his story!”

Jack-the-Cat’s Dream is priced at 12 euros or 70TL and may also be purchased via the Amazon website.
