Municipality Orchestra presents Rock Night classics

LEFKOŞA Municipality Orchestra promises two choral concerts and a performance of Rock Night classics this week in the capital.

World Choir Day is celebrated today with a noon-to-3pm public concert by the municipality children’s choir with pianist Ercüment Şeker at the historic Büyük Han, to be conducted by Hare Yakula and Müge Görgül.

The Municipality Folk Music Choir presents an 8pm Tuesday concert of folk songs from vintage Turkish films conducted by Hasibe Aksaç and featuring soloist Arkın Sayar at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Centre.

Tickets are priced at 10TL and available from Deniz Plaza bookshops or reservations may be made for both concerts by phoning (0392) 223 9825.

Following the orchestra’s Bellapais Music Festival Beatles concert debut last month, a Rock Night concert is lined up for 8pm on Wednesday at the Bandabuliya indoor market, with entry priced at 15TL.
