Afternoon tea at the
AN AFTERNOON tea at Lord’s Palace Hotel in Girne has raised 4,800TL for the Help Those With Cancer Association (Tulips).
Forty-eight people attended the event in the hotel’s Sky Lounge and Bar last Friday when they tucked into an open buffet of sweet and savoury items including cakes and sandwiches, with tea or coffee.
Lord’s Palace marketing and communication manager Melisa Acar Demir said: “Everyone had a great time at the afternoon tea which we hold on a regular basis.
“This time, however, we wanted to make it a fundraiser and every year we try to hold an event in aid of Tulips. Last year, for example, we organised a fair.
“We hope to have more such events next year with support from our customers.”
A Tulips spokesman thanked the hotel for its “continuous contributions” which, they said, were “very important” in the charity’s work with member cancer patients and their families.
