Spot Caretta Festival to start August 3
THE second Spot Caretta Festival organised by the North Cyprus Society for the Protection of Turtles (Spot) will take place this year on August 3 and 4 in the Karpaz village of Dipkarpaz.
Both days’ activities will start at 9am with a turtle nest excavation and the Saturday will continue with a beach clean-up, followed by fun competitions including a “be a turtle” challenge, tug of war, sandcastle building, “crab walking” and box jumping. There will also be a public release of turtle hatchlings at 7pm.
The daytime events will take place at Ayfilon Beach and the municipal festival area will be the venue for evening activities which will include stands, folk dance shows and concerts.
