Local Pay app lets you renew ATA membership
MEMBERS of the Anglo Turkish Association (ATA) of Northern Cyprus can now renew their membership of the organisation from “anywhere in the world” thanks to a new agreement with Creditwest Bank.
The ATA has become a “Creditwest Local Pay provider, the first of its type in Northern Cyprus” an ATA statement said.
“Within hours of announcing the new initiative to their membership on May 4, some members were using the Local Pay contactless app on their smart phone or tablet to pay for their annual association membership,” the ATA said.
The first members to pay their annual membership fee with the new system were Figen Kaymak and Nesrin Argün.
“Using Local Pay is a secure reliable way to make payments, which is why I recommend all other association members to use it for their annual membership payment,” Ms Kaymak of Creditwest Bank said.
Ms Argün said: “Downloading the Local Pay app was easy and making a payment even easier.”
Buket Edil, who received her new membership card from ATA chairman Philip Lloyd the day after she made her payment, said: “It was straightforward and easy to pay my membership using Local Pay, exactly the same as when l use Local Pay to pay for my petrol or groceries.”
Mr Lloyd commented: “Local Pay is a great way for our members to make payments from anywhere in the world to our association. Making payments of small amounts has proved difficult and expensive for our members. Our co-operation with Creditwest Bank has put an end to this and gives our membership yet another payment method.”
The ATA statement added that Local Pay is “just one of the co-operations between The Anglo Turkish Association of Northern Cyprus and Creditwest Bank” and that “over the coming months more will follow”.
