PM thanks Erdoğan for 430 million TL money transfer

PRIME Minister Ersan Saner thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Vice President Fuat Oktay for the transfer of 430 million TL into the TRNC’s coffers.

Most of the money, 330 million TL, has been earmarked for defence spending, while the remaining 100 million TL will be added to the current budget, the PM said.

Pointing out that the country will turn into a “construction site” in May, Mr Saner said that, pursuant to the economic protocol signed with Turkey earlier this year, the government of the TRNC will do “everything it can” to improve the economy by transferring resources to both the agricultural sector and the private sector, as well as through investments that will contribute to the country’s economy.

“We will continue on our path,” Mr Saner said, stating that the welfare of the Turkish Cypriot people is of “great importance” and that ministers will carry out their efforts for the development of the country.

“I believe that our people will be at a point where they will be able to see what we are doing,” he added.
