Mum shares time-saving ‘no fold’ clothes system

-

THERE’S only so many things mums can do in one day and if there’s one thing most would rather not be doing, it’s folding and putting away laundry.

One mum recently got really fed up of folding clothes and was tired of having baskets of t-shirts and trousers around her house, sitting there, waiting to be folded and put in a drawer.

So she decided to come up with a new way of doing things in her home, which she calls the no fold system.

Courtney, who posts under @playroominspo on TikTok, shared a look at what she does now with her own clothes and those belonging to her toddler.

In the video she says: “So I was sick and tired of having baskets of my kid’s clothes everywhere that weren’t being folded.

“It was driving me nuts and I knew I just couldn’t handle it anymore so I just have a no fold system going on in here now. It has helped me so much, so I highly recommend not folding anymore and just getting bins like this, it is so much easier.”

In a second clip, she continues to say: “Normalise not folding your kids’ clothes. I timed putting these clothes away and it was four minutes, so much better than clothes piled up for days waiting to be folded.

Her videos have garnered millions of views and thousands of comments from fellow parents, with some divided by the thought of not folding clothes.

Some were totally on board with the no fold system, with one person saying: “I respect this 100 per cent. A childless friend said it’s toxic how moms try and appear perfect around other moms. Why not relax and do what works?!”

Another replied: “Ohhh this is the parenting I am here for.” “Neat idea,” proclaimed a different user. However, others didn’t like it, with a posting: “Really? What happened to self-discipline? I say WE normalise self-care by being clean and neat. Lead by example mom . . . ”

One admitted: “I make my kids fold clothes right out of the dryer so they aren’t 20 going to work wearing a crusty shirt because they didn’t think folding is the norm.”
