Music fest opens,
The 18th International North Cyprus Music Festival starts today at Bellapais Monastery
THE 18th International North Cyprus Music Festival, which was cancelled last year due to the pandemic, will start today at Bellapais Monastery, organisers announced on Wednesday. The event, organised by the North Cyprus Music Association under the auspices of the TRNC Presidency, will run until June 22. All performances will start at 8pm, with no break. A maximum of 120 people will be allowed to watch each concert due to Covid19 measures. The festival will start this evening with a concert from the Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO) led by maestro Ali Hoca while renowned Turkish Cypriot violinist Ayşe Karaoğlan will be the soloist.
On the second day of the festival, Monday June 7, the audience will enjoy string trio and quartet and wind quintet as a CSO Chamber Music Concert.
On Wednesday, June 9, İlias Abdullin and İrade Melikova will perform a violin-piano recital; Friday June 11 will be a string quartet and wind trio performance as part of a CSO Chamber Music Concert, who will then offer a string quintet, wind quintet on June 15.
A classical music band, Myrrha Trio, whose members are Miray Çakır, Sinem Sadrazam and Püren Eda Gözer, will perform on June 18.
Soprano Sermin Dikmen Töre and pianist Yuliya Starastenkava will perform on the final day of the festival, June 22.
