Carob molasses festival to start on Friday

THE Ozanköy “Pekmez” (Carob Molasses) Festival returns for the 14th time, from Friday to next Sunday. An opening ceremony will take place at 7pm on Friday with speeches and a “symbolic serving” of traditional carob syrup.

There will be stands selling molasses-based produce and other goods, as well as concerts, dance shows, poetry recitals, presentations and a carob molasses dessert competition. The festival will be held on Dr Fazıl Küçük Caddesi with stands opening at 6pm on each day.
