Police misidentify worker who died

THE labourer who died after falling 21 metres from scaffolding at a construction site in İskele on August 11 was Şirin Uçkun, 44, and not 49year-old Dündar Arda, according to a new police statement.

The police press office, which initially named the deceased as Mr Arda, issued a fresh statement correcting the information. No explanation for the error was given. Meanwhile the number of people arrested on suspicion of negligence in regards to the death of Mr Uçkun has risen from one to three. The investigation continues.
