The President was joined on his visit by the chairman of Günsel’s board of directors Prof Dr İrfan Suat Günsel.

Following his tour of the factory last Saturday, Mr Tatar said that the “Günsel is a great project that gives hope to our country and strengthens our confidence in the future”.

He added that he is “proud of you all for showing what our country can achieve”.

Having watched a presentation about Günsel while on his tour, Mr Tatar said that “my belief in the future of our country has increased exponentially”.

He added that he believes that the TRNC can “turn into a country with a foreign trade surplus by closing our foreign trade deficit and providing a qualified workforce”.

Prof Günsel also spoke after the tour, saying that “Günsel will create a great leap forward in the economy of the TRNC” and announced that the B9 car will be put into mass production within the next 18 months.

On Tuesday Economy and Energy Minister Olgun Amcaoğlu also visited the production plant and test drove the Günsel B9 on the test track located within the Near East University campus.
