New Gazimağusa primary school donated to the state
THE keys to the latest in a string of primary schools built by Near East Enterprises have been handed over to the state.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held last Friday to handover the “Dr Suat Günsel State Primary School Gazimağusa”, the third of six primary schools to be completed as part of a protocol signed between the National Education Ministry and Near East Enterprises, to the Primary Education Department.
President Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, National Education Minister Nazım Çavuşoğlu, Near East University founder Dr Suat Günsel, Near East Enterprises board of trustees chairman of Prof İrfan Suat Günsel and other officials attended the handover and opening ceremony of the 500-student capacity “fully equipped” school.
They gave speeches before cutting the ribbon and then had a tour of the new school.
According to a statement from Near
East Enterprises, the school has been built on 18,000m2 of land.
It has 16 classrooms, a computer laboratory, a fully equipped music room, administrative offices, teacher rooms and exhibition halls. The school also has a 4,500m2 playground, 60 works of art and 165 palm trees have been planted.
