Kıb-Tek on to its 5th chairman of the year

MINISTERS have appointed a new chairman of the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (Kıb-Tek), the fifth of 2022.

According to a Council of Ministers decision published in the Official Gazette, Hasan Akyiğit, who was appointed on June 8, has been replaced as chairman by Hüseyin Paşa.

The change came about after Mr Akyiğit announced his resignation on Wednesday.

He said in a statement that he would “not be able to serve the citizens and KıbTek in a healthy and proper manner” due to efforts to “undermine” the newly appointed Kıb-Tek management and have its general manager sacked, which were creating “chaos” within the organisation.
