Çatalköy Municipality and Çader sign recycling protocol
The Çatalköy Development and Culture Association (Çader) and Çatalköy Municipality signed a cooperation protocol on Monday.
A statement from Çader said that the purpose of the protocol is to ensure the “continued cooperation between the municipality and Çader for the separation and collection of household waste in the village”.
“What started with a study tour in Germany in 2018 has finally resulted in an easy system of waste separation and collection, involving selected plastics and also metal, in preparation for recycling,” the statement said.
Four members of the Çader committee, a representative from Çatalköy Municipality and a journalist from Sim TV “made a visit to small German villages to learn how the German villagers deal with household waste” and “some of these ideas are now being applied in our village to the benefit of the environment”, Çader explained.
They said that anyone who lives in Çatalköy can go to the “vezne” (cash desk) in the Çatalköy Municipality building and collect, free of charge, plastic bags used for waste separation and an explanatory leaflet.
“Please make sure you register your address for collection,” the statement added. “The municipality collects these bags from outside your home on the last Wednesday of every month.”
