Fuel prices fluctuate
PETROL prices rose by 2TL per litre on Wednesday, cancelling out the previous week’s price reductions.
Accordingly the price of a litre of 95 octane unleaded petrol rose to 20.42TL, while 98 octane unleaded petrol rose to 20.73TL per litre. The price of a litre of diesel rose by 1TL to 25.70TL, only to be reduced on Thursday to 24.44TL.
Economy and Energy Minister Olgun Amcaoğlu, who announced the pump price changes, responded to social media-based criticism by saying that price adjustments are “not arbitrary” but are based on the “international markets” and determined “according to rules and regulations”.
