Queer Cyprus holds meetings
THE Queer Cyprus Association has conducted a series of “advocacy visits” in the sectors of education and health to present the findings of various studies they have undertaken, and to ask questions regarding the potential implementation of their recommendations.
Among those who attended the meetings were officials from the Health Ministry, the Education Ministry, the Cyprus Turkish Nurses and Midwives Association, the Cyprus Turkish Medical Association, the Universal
Patient Rights Association, the Turkish Cypriot Psychologists’ Association, the Cyprus Turkish Teachers’ Union, the Cyprus Turkish Secondary Education Teachers’ Union, and the Cyprus Turkish Psychological Counselling and Guidance Association.
The Queer Cyprus Association conveyed their findings from studies regarding the situations of LGBTI+ sex workers, LGBTI+ people’s access to social services and employment, as well as various rights violations experienced by LGBTI+ people, among other topics.
