Girne to host its first ‘Gastro Show’
THE first ever “Gastro Show Girne” will take place today at the Girne Bandabulya. The show will feature exhibitions of traditional Cypriot food and culture, including folk dance shows and musical performances. It will start at noon and finish at 10pm.
A panel, chaired by Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü, will also hold a discussion about “authentic Cypriot food”.
Mr Güngördü said at a press conference to announce the event on Tuesday that it will provide an opportunity for people to “get to know Cypriot food”, as well as contributing to expected growth in gastro tourism in North Cyprus.
Mr Güngördü went on to explain that gastro tourism is an important market to tap into, and that this country’s “gastronomic wealth” should be integrated into its offerings to tourists.
