Charity donates equipment to Children’s Oncology Ward
HEARTBEAT-North Cyprus Cancer Charity Trust has donated equipment worth thousands of euros and dollars to the Children’s Oncology Ward at Lefkoşa Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital.
The charity donated 10 IV (intravenous) poles, 16 finger pulse oximeters, and 16 UltraScan infrared thermometers, all of which Heartbeat said are worth $2,884, as well as two wall-mounted otoscope and opthalmoscope sets, worth 2,700 euros.
In addition, supplier Bioram also donated an extra four finger pulse oximeters valued at $340 as part of Heartbeat’s order from them.
Heartbeat treasurer Vicki Karaca said: “We have until October 5 to complete our Heart Chart for this equipment.
“Donations can still be made direct to volunteers, from organised events, at Creditwest banks by giving the name of Lynda Cook and Kuzey Kıbrıs Kanser Yardım Derneği, or [via] the Local Pay app, [which] can be downloaded from Playstore and credit card payment made by searching North Cyprus Cancer Charity Trust.
Meanwhile Mrs Karaca has praised Jessic Bar in Karşıyaka for its fundraising efforts at bingo sessions held there every Friday afternoon.
She said Heartbeat “would like to say a massive thank you” for the bar’s continued support and that the charity has “collected many thousands of TL from them allowing us to do our 50/50 draw every week”.
