Pedestrian hit by bus left in intensive care

A PEDESTRIAN was seriously injured after being hit by a bus on Sunday.

Fikret Aydın, 63, a resident of Yeniboğaziçi, was walking along the Tuzla-Mutluyaka main road at about 1am when he was hit by a bus travelling west driven by Mustafa Yalçıcı, 55, a police statement said.

Mr Aydın was taken to Gazimağusa State Hospital, where he was placed under observation in the hospital’s intensive care unit.

Mr Yalçıcı was arrested on suspicion of causing the accident due to “careless” driving. The police investigation continues.
