Tatar’s condolences for coal mine disaster victim families

-

PRESIDENT Ersin Tatar issued a message of condolences for the families of those who died in a coal mine explosion in Turkey last Friday evening.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that 41 people lost their lives in the blast at the Amasra coal mine in the northern province of Bartın.

It was the country’s deadliest incident at a coal mine since a fire at a mine in Soma, western Turkey, in 2014 killed 301 miners.

“It is with great sadness that I have learned of the tragic explosion in the coal mine in Bartın, which has resulted in loss of life,” President Tatar said.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families. May those who lost their lives rest in peace, and I express my deepest sympathy and sincere condolence to the families, loved ones and to the Republic of Türkiye [Turkey].

“I wish a speedy recovery to those injured and hope that rescue efforts are completed as soon as possible.”

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Parliament Speaker Zorlu Töre, ministers and other TRNC politcians also issued similar messages of condolences last weekend.
