Political parties to debate way forward in Cyprus
LEADERS and representatives from Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot political parties will meet on Monday to discuss the Cyprus issue.
The meeting will start at 10am and will take place at Ledra Palace in the UN buffer zone under the auspices of the embassy of the Slovak Republic.
According to a statement from the Slovak embassy in South Nicosia, the Greek Cypriot party Akel, which is the “hosting party” for Monday’s meeting, has proposed that the following topic should be discussed: “Bizonal bicommunal federation solution as the only way forward: neither two states, nor ‘new ideas’ undermining achieved core convergences.”
The Slovak embassy will issue a further statement following the meeting.
