Karting season comes to a close
THE 2022 North Cyprus ROK Karting Championship came to a close with the sixth and final round taking place last Sunday.
The season finale was held at the Cemsa Sporting Center on the outskirts of Lefkoşa on a 1,395-metre track. A total of 16 competitors divided into four age categories took part in two races each.
Rüzgar Okman won both races in the “Mini” category. In the “Junior” category, Demir Göksan won the first race and Hasan Onalt won the second race, with Göksan declared the overall winner based on lap times.
In the “Senior” category Halil Kahraman won both races, while Güner Ballı won both races in the “Masters” category.
Following the day’s results, the 2022 champions of the Mini, Junior, Senior and Masters categories were declared as Okman, Niyazi Özçınar, Kahraman and Ballı respectively.
North Cyprus Karting Association president Tigin Güryel presented trophies to the winners during an awards ceremony.
