RBL ball raises more than 30,000TL for Poppy Appeal

THIS year’s Poppy Ball has raised 31,800TL for the Royal British Legion’s (RBL) Poppy Appeal.

The event, dubbed by organisers as the “highlight of the RBL year”, was held last Saturday at the Kaya Palazzo Hotel in Girne.

It was organised by the RBL Kyrenia Branch, with tickets costing £55 for RBL members and £60 for non-members. There was also a discount available of £5 per ticket for those booking a table for 10.

Les Evans, of the RBL Kyrenia Branch, told Cyprus Today

that 110 people attended the event, and that the money was raised from an auction and raffle.
