-

COLE Palmer gave Chelsea a last-minute 4-3 Premier League win over Manchester United in a match on Thursday.

Chelsea, who took a 2-0 lead at the beginning of the match, netted early twice with Conor Gallagher in the fourth minute and Cole Palmer with a penalty goal in the 19th minute, but they could not hold on to their lead.

United’s Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes pulled a goal back for his team in the 39th minute.

Argentine attacker Alejandro Garnacho, who netted twice in the 34th and 67th minutes at Stamford Bridge, drove the Red Devils forward into a 3-2 lead.

Palmer then took centre stage once again and gave a lifeline to the Blues as he netted in the 100th and 101st minutes to complete his hat-trick and bring his team a vital victory.

In the other night’s Premier League fixture Liverpool beat bottom side Sheffield United 3-1 at Anfield to return to the top of the table.

Alexis Mac Allister’s 20-yard thunderbolt 14 minutes from time helped to

secure all three points in a contest that proved to be much more difficult for the hosts than most had expected.

On Tuesday Arsenal had replaced Liverpool in top spot with a 2-0 victory over relegation-threatened Luton Town.

Manchester City are third in the table following a 4-1 victory at home to Aston Villa

that featured a Phil Foden hat-trick . With just eight games to go the Premier League title remains close, with only three points separating the top three.

Liverpool have 70 points, Arsenal are on 68 points while Manchester City have 67 points. All three sides have played 30 matches.
