Camagüey conveys the feeling of being in two stages: that of the colonial rule, present in the architectu­ral heritage, and that of a modern city. Precisely because it is a city that deserves to be enjoyed by the visitor, the Office of the Historian -parting from research outcomesca­me up with the “Vivir Camagüey” (Living Camaguey) travel product, made up of a group of routes cut out to discover the attraction­s the city has to offer.

The visits allow to swing by the Major General Ignacio Agramonte and José Martí parks. They also offer an approach to the El Gallo, San Juan de Dios, El Carmen and Los Trabajador­es squares.

The initiative also includes such institutio­ns as the House of Cultural Diversity, the Heritage Interpreta­tion Center, the Santa Cecilia Convention Center, the El Carmen Cultural Project, the Fidelio Ponce de León Art Gallery, the headquarte­rs of the Harlequin Sociocultu­ral Project; as well as the birth homes of Ignacio Agramonte and Carlos J. Finlay. Shortly, the Railway Museum of Camagüey will be added to these routes, recipient of the 2018 Excelencia­s Awards.
