This province, that takes its name from the Tungurahua volcano, is located in the highlands of Ecuador. The volcano is currently active and it is one of the main attraction­s of the area.

1. Baños de Agua Santa: A small tourist city, only three hours south of Quito. We recommend you visit the area, the churches, bars, restaurant­s and activities. Try the ‘melcocha’, a typical candy of the zone. 8. Parque Nacional Llanganate­s: With an area of 219,707 hectares, this is a place of Historical importance. The beauty of this green ecosystem is an unforgetta­ble adventure in the nature.

Waterfall Route: Travel through the route of the waterfalls that include the famous ‘Pailón del Diablo’, a huge waterfall with beautiful stairs and a suspension bridge.

3. Hot Springs: Tungurahua is famous for having many volcanic hot springs. You can also receive a relaxing massage and different treatments. to the great diversity of species and high levels of endemism. The UNESCO declared the park as a natural world heritage site in 1983.

10. Patate: Known as the city of eternal spring; Patate offers beautiful parks, museums and little lagoons. Enjoy a nice lunch in one of its hostels or restaurant­s and have a nice day with your friends and family at this site

4. Adventure Sports: The place is ideal for extreme sports such as rafting, canyoning, Bungee Jumping and mountain biking. You can also rent boogies or adventure cars to travel the Baños-Puyo route.

5. Chiva to the Volcano: At night you can ride on a ‘Chiva’ up to the viewing point of the volcano. At the top you can find local shows, food and the best view of the volcano. 6. The Tree House: At the internatio­nally famousTree house, you will find the so called “swings of the end of the world”, where you can swing at many meters over the ground with an amazing view of the mountains.

7. Ambato: Ambato, the capital of the province, celebrates its festivitie­s in February where you can find many cultural activities and also a colorful parade.
