Telecom Egypt, Orange sign strategic agreement to provide infrastructure, accessibility services
Telecom Egypt announced on Thursday that it signed a trade agreement with Orange to provide the latter infrastructure and accessibility services through Telecom Egypt’s network for a period of three years. The agreement comes as a step to maximise the volume of bilateral relations between the two companies and reflects the real opportunities within the telecommunications market and allows for maximising the use of the growth rates within the sector.
The agreement was signed by Ahmed El- Beheiry, managing director and executive chairperson of Telecom Egypt, and Jean Marc Harion, CEO of Orange, in the presence of a number of leaders of the two companies.
According to the agreement, Telecom Egypt will provide capacity for Orange services through their networks in all parts of the country, to ensure the achievement of the highest levels of quality and efficiency of services provided by Orange to its customers through the use of Telecom Egypt’s advanced infrastructure.
During the past period, Telecom Egypt has pumped large investments to develop and modernise its infrastructure, in order to accommodate the demands of the market’s increasing growth, which yielded a leap in terms of the availability and quality of services, and infrastructure provided to operators.
“This agreement is of great importance to Telecom Egypt, especially as it contributes to the strategic partnership of the volume of trade exchange between the two companies, through trade agreements and ensuring market leadership for this type of services, especially in light of the huge investments pumped by the company to develop its infrastructure and to provide better technical and commercial alternatives to its customers, which was positively reflected on the level of services provided to end users, and confirms our commitment to the Egyptian market,” said El- Beheiry
El- Beheiry added that Telecom Egypt, through this agreement, was keen to provide new price mechanisms to stimulate the Egyptian market and achieve the common interests of both parties, explaining that the agreement will also contribute to maximising the benefit from the current growth rates in data services.
