The ITEC training programmes include fields such as IT, public administration, auditing, elections, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurship, rural development, parliamentary affairs, renewable energy, English language, banking, skill development and employment generation, the embassy said.

The statement mentioned that nearly 1,000 Egyptians have visited India to participate in various training programmes in the last few years. In another context, the 54th an-niversary of the ITEC programme will be celebrated at the Embassy of India, on 30 October, noted the statement, adding that Egyptian trainees will also participate in the event to share their experiences. Special training in fields like se-curity, defence and counterinsur-gency, will be offered for defence personnel by prestigious institutes in India, such as the National De-fence College and the Defence Ser-vice Staff College. The ITEC Day serves as a plat-form to "bring together Egyptian friends, and to rekindle their warm experiences in India, to cherish their memories of visiting India, as well as to further strengthen the close bonds of friendship between the peoples of India and Egypt," the statement read.
