UBE par­tic­i­pates in Egymed Pro Ex­hi­bi­tion for phar­ma­ceu­ti­cals, med­i­cal sup­plies in Su­dan

Dur­ing Pres­i­dent Ab­del Fat­tah Al-Sisi’s visit, un­der the spon­sor­ship of Su­danese Pres­i­dent Omar Al-Bashir, a del­e­ga­tion from the United Bank of Egypt (UBE) par­tic­i­pated in the Egymed Pro Ex­hi­bi­tion for phar­ma­ceu­ti­cals and med­i­cal sup­plies last week in Su­dan. This came as part of the con­tin­u­ous ef­fort to in­crease the vol­ume of trade, cul­tural, and health ex­change be­tween both coun­tries.

With the par­tic­i­pa­tion of 15 ma­jor phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal com­pa­nies, with the or­gan­i­sa­tion of the Ex­port De­vel­op­ment Author­ity and the Egyp­tian Ex­porters As­so­ci­a­tion,both pres­i­dents opened the ex­hi­bi­tion and re­viewed the prod­ucts of the ex­hibit­ing com­pa­nies,which that are spe­cialised in phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal sup­plies, cos­met­ics,and food sup­ple­ments.

In the UBE’s pavil­ion, the del­e­ga­tion launched a pack­age of spe­cialised bank­ing so­lu­tions for Egyp­tian ex­porters and own­ers of phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal com­pa­nies. It in­cluded spe­cific bank­ing fund­ing for ex­porters, as well as tech­ni­cal ad­vice, with the aim of in­creas­ing the vol­ume of Egyp­tian ex­ports to Su­dan.The ex­tent to which the ex­hibit­ing com­pa­nies ben­e­fited from the agree­ments re­cently signed by UBE and Afrexim Bank was also re­viewed.They in­cluded Egyp­tian ex­ports be­ing sup­plied to 50 African coun­tries, and a com­pany for ex­port risk guar­an­tee.

Ashraf El-Qadi, chair­man of UBE, said that the vol­ume of trade ex­change be­tween Egypt and Su­dan is close to $1bn an­nu­ally,with an in­crease of 18.9% com­pared to last year, ac­cord­ing to a re­port by the Cen­tral Au­dit­ing Or­gan­i­sa­tion.
