Eswatini Cue Sports commends female trio
THE Eswatini Cue Sports Association (ECSA) has commended three female youngsters’ performances in the recent Witbank Black Ball championships held on Sunday.
This is after three youngsters in Baliwe Mnyakeni, Lenhle Mtsetfwa and Vumile Dlamini finished in the top 20 bracket during their debut in the international assignment staged in the Mpumalanga province.
Baliwe finished in position 11 and she was followed by Lenhle who came 16th on the day.
Meanwhile, Vumile Dlamini had a tough outing securing position 18 during the invitational tournament.
ECSA President Muntu Dlamini said they were happy with the progress of the three youngsters in the international assignment.
“We are pleased with the progress of the three players and we urge them to continue working hard in the other upcoming tournament. We will continue giving our players an opportunity to showcase their talent outside the country,” he said.
Top national star Ncobile Dlamini was the best local performer after finishing fourth while Nandipha Mkhwanazi came eighth on the day.
The five players are expected to feature in the 2023 Eswatini pool championship that will take place in the country in January 2024 at Mavuso Sports Centre
Ncobile recently represented the country in the 2023 Hayley Cup that was staged at Montecasino Hotel, Johannesburg together with Nkosinathi ‘Bhubesi’ Sihlongonyane and they were both part of the national side that featured in the 2023 All Africa Black Ball championships also held at the same venue.
Eswatini is also eyeing to host the 2025 All Africa Black Ball championships and they are competing with Kenya in their bid to stage the next edition of the continent’s showpiece.
