Sports Council looks to a fruitful five years with new Sports Minister

THE Eswatini Sport and Recreation Council (ESRC) is looking forward to a five-year fruitful leadership under the new Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Muzi Bongani Nzima.

The Sandleni Member of Parliament (MP) was officially announced as Minister on Monday night by the Prime Minister (PM) Russell Mmiso Dlamini. Nzima who takes over the post from Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga was part of the 18 cabinet ministers who were awarded at the Cabinet Offices on Tuesday mid-day.

“We at the Eswatini Sports and Recreation Council (ESRC) take the opportunit­y to congratula­te Bongane Nzima for his appointmen­t as the new Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs.

We would also like to thank His Majesty King Mswati III for the wonderful vision he has for sports in the kingdom. The king's love for sports is inspiring. His Majesty has consistent­ly shown that he cares for sports and is a sportsman himself. We say Bayethe Wena Waphakathi,” reads a statement by ESRC Media Officer Dumisani Ntiwane.

The sports mother body in the country added that Nzima takes over from the workaholic Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga, who was the previous minister. They said they were delighted to have Nzima as their new Minister and look forward to a fruitful fiveyear working relationsh­ip with him,” he said.

Ntiwane said the fact that Nzima has in the past been exposed to a first-world country like Geneva puts us in good stead as a sporting fraternity.

“His overseas experience will come in handy, as he executes his duties. We wish him well in his new endeavour.

We would also like to take this time to appeal to the sporting fraternity to give the new minister all the cooperatio­n he needs for him to deliver successful­ly. There is only little he can do without the
