Build it spends E1.2 million per year in Under-13 tournament

BUILD it Stores is investing over 1 million per year in the annual Build it Under-13 tournament.

This was revealed by Eswatini Football Associatio­n (EFA) Chief Executive Officer Frederick Mngomezulu during the 2023 edition held at Mavuso Sports Centre on Saturday.

“We are grateful to Build it for the continued support to the tournament with an annual sponsorshi­p of E1.2 million which

covers the total expenses of the tournament from the regions until the finals. We are also grateful for the introducti­on of the E10 000 education bursary for the player of the tournament and the funds will contribute­s towards a bright future of the player,”

Mngometulu also announced that they will be sending an Under-13 pick team to an internatio­nal tournament in Lesotho possibly in December.

“We will send a pick team to an internatio­nal tournament in December at a country that will announce in due course. We are grateful for the continued support of the sponsor for ensuring that we continue grooming youngsters,” he said.

He also thanked the sponsor for introducin­g the E10 000 bursary for the best player of the tournament which was won by Wenkosi Dlamini from the Nhlangano pick team.

Meanwhile, Build it head office representa­tive Pillay said they were happy with the proceeding­s of the tournament.

“We are pleased with our partnershi­p with the Eswatini Football Associatio­n which has become a perfect platform for youngsters to showcase talent. We will engage with our partner to see how we can improve the initiative
