Nedbank raises Imvelo MTB Classic package to E300 000
THE more they come, the bigger they get with Nedbank Eswatini.
It will be E300 000 for the upcoming edition. This shows an increase from last year’s 18th edition, which was sponsored to the tune of E250 in by the purpose-driven bank.
The race is scheduled for June 8, this year at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary. The improved sponsorship package by the main sponsor, Nedbank was announced yesterday by the financial institution’s Managing Director (MD) Fikile Nkosi in the presence of national media, Big Game Parks and the Eswatini Cycling Association (ECA) which included the latter’s Interim President, William Kelly.
“We are honoured, as Nedbank Eswatini, to contribute sponsorship to the value of E300 000 (three hundred thousand Emalangeni) towards the hosting of the 2024 Imvelo MTB C
lassic. “We encourage cycling enthusiasts to register for the 19th edition of the Imvelo MTB Classic via the Imvelo website at
www.imvelo@biggameparks.org and also at all Nedbank branches countrywide, where we have made things easier by having QR codes that cycles can take pictures of and easily land on the Imvelo website to register,” Nkosi excitedly pronounced, much to a big round of applause.
Excited
She said the bank is excited to have been part of the Imvelo MTB Classic journey for the past 20 years - an initiative that embodies conservation, promotes fitness, and contributes immensely to putting and cementing Eswatini as a tourist destination of choice in the region.
“Because we couldn’t have our 19th edition due to covid-19, we will have this year, and then our 20th is next year. It will be a bigger and even better event to celebrate our achievements,” Nkosi clarified.
She made it known that as a bank, they believed their contribution to the MTB Classic, a great and noble cause, resonated with ‘our purpose and brand promise of using financial expertise to do good for individuals, families, businesses, communities, and the society at large. Nkosi was speaking inside the bank’s headquarters in Mbabane where she further challenged other corporates to join them and Imvelo in this great endeavor.
