THE stage is set for a night of musical enchantment as Eswatini’s iconic musician, Bholoja, is announced as a special guest for saxophonist Fakazi Samuel’s upcoming Live Recording event, ‘Sing A New Song.’

Set to take place on June 29, 2024, at Mbabane Alliance Church, this event promises to be a soul-stirring showcase of talent and compassion, with songbird Velemseni also confirmed as a supporting act.

Bholoja, known offstage as Mbongiseni Ngubane, stands as a pillar of the contemporary African music scene, drawing inspiration from Swazi tradition and using his music to preserve the country’s rich cultural heritage. With his debut album, ‘Swazi Soul,’ released in 2009, Bholoja made waves across Southern Africa, becoming the first Swazi artist to achieve international acclaim solely through the power of his music.

A passionate advocate for social justice and a voice for the underprivileged, Bholoja’s music serves as a beacon of hope and resilience in the face of adversity. His unique brand of music, which he aptly calls ‘Swazi Soul,’ has resonated deeply with audiences, earning him a reputation as a symbol of Eswatini’s native rhythms, melodies, and cultural identity.

The ‘Sing A New Song’ event, organized by Sabela Records, transcends the boundaries of entertainment, aiming to raise vital funds for the Sabela Foundation. In collaboration with Hope for Life and the New Hope Centre, the foundation is committed to empowering underprivileged children in Eswatini, offering them care, support, and opportunities for a brighter future.

By attending this fundraiser, guests not only could enjoy a night of unforgettable music but also to contribute to a cause that holds profound significance. A portion of the event’s proceeds will directly support initiatives that bring hope, education, and growth to those in need, creating a positive impact within the community and beyond.

‘Sing A New Song’ promises to be a harmonious blend of talent, compassion, and unity, where the transformative power of music meets the generosity of spirit in a symphony of giving back.
