This is courtesy of Easy Buy and Century Fashions shops. The two shops, Easy Buy, a grocery outlet, and Century, a clothing shop, launched the E30 000 sponsored Hhohho Region Charity Soccer Cup for social teams from all over the country. The launch took place yesterday in front of Easy Buy, Mbabane shop.

Easy Buy and Century Fashions Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Asraful ‘Mansur’ Chowdhury presented the sponsorship to

Social and Recreational Games Eswatini (SARGE) President Nathi Dlamini and his Executive. Also present were some of the participating social teams from all four corners of the country alongside the tournament beneficiary school, Ebaleni Primary Principal Mbongeni Masuku since it’s a charity competition. Mansur, as he fondly known, said this was part of their social responsibility as Easy Buy and Century Fashions.

Donation

“It’s not the first time, we come a long way as we have donated to the epilepsy association some years back, contributed 3 000 food parcels during Covid-19, we helped some children go to school and we still have a donation box inside our Easy Buy shops which we use to give food to the needy who come asking for a meal or have no food,” he said.

Mansur said they also help cricket where necessary, and now, they are proud to partner with social teams. He said they were also impressed to learn the tournament will also benefit the society as there will be a donation made to a school in the Hhohho Region called Ebaleni Primary.

The school’s principal was lost for words but revealed that due to SARGE’S donation of a soccer kit last year, the pupils were so motivated that the school even produced the best Grade 7 pupil in the whole region and sixth in the country. He said to know they were once again the beneficiaries lifted the mood back in his school as he let the school know about it.

Century Fashions Representative Onik ‘Sincephetelo’ Chowdhury also expressed their joy at associating with SARGE, especially because they were very much into social responsibility as a business. He said they were well treated here in Eswatini when, in some parts of the world, it was war daily. He thanked the King for everything as he declared he was an umbutfo after going through the kubutseka where the name Sincephetelo.
